What the case is
Johnstone v Police is an appeal against conviction after Cassidy Ellen Johnstone’s guilty pleas to causing injury while under the influence of drink and/or a drug, and reckless driving, following a January 2020 high-speed chase over Auckland’s Harbour Bridge. The High Court dismissed the appeal. She had sought a discharge of conviction for career and travel reasons, including cybersecurity prospects.
